Gather to heal, gather to serve

These times are asking us to gather; to connect & create community;
to heal ourselves and serve our community with more heart and more integrity.

This is a full-day, online event for birthworkers/birthkeepers and all those who tend and care for mothers and new families- doulas, midwives, doctors, nurses, massage therapists and bodyworkers, advocates and passionate community members who care about families and the spectrum of birth.

An opportunity for deep listening and thought-provoking conversations.

A place for us to come together to birth new, and remember old, ways of being with people during such a powerful and tender chapter in their lives.

To DO and BE better within these spaces, within our communities and the world.

There will be a full-day running schedule of guest speakers; with prizes drawn throughout the day, breaks and time for Q&As. Everyone will also receive recordings of the talks after the event and an invitation to join a private FB group.

  • Please be aware that this event is an explicitly pro-Palestine & pro-Indigenous peoples event.

We believe in decolonise to thrive, LAND BACK and Free Palestine.

If these things don’t align with your belief system and you aren’t able to come with an open mind and an open heart, then this event isn’t for you and I trust that you will seek other events that will align more clearly.

Meet the Speakers

  • Speaker - Decolonising the Child-Bearing Continuum & Beyond

“I am a trained counsellor working outside the traditional system as a Transpersonal Birth Mentor.

I am a (free)birthing, freeschooling Mama of four children.

A woman of Māori, Scottish and Irish descent deeply devoted to decolonising the child bearing continuum and beyond.

My purpose is first and foremost to raise free and liberated children who contribute positively to a more free and liberated world for all. My work weaves from this place and is devoted to supporting folks (particularly birthing mothers) on their healing journeys, however it needs to look for them.

I draw upon Matauranga Māori and strive to nurture a decolonized lens through which to support a reclamation of birth, mothering and thriving family ecosystems.

Decolonising the child bearing continuum and beyond is life long devotional work, and I’m in it for the long haul.

  • Speaker - Connecting to Country & Ancestors

“Mother, Woman, Gunggari Umbi, Space holder for Families and children.

Tiff is a Gunggari woman growing and living on Giabal and Jarrowair Country in Toowoomba. With many roles and experience in early childhood education, outdoor learning, Aboriginal liaison work, midwifery, birthwork and women's business. Be it Bush School and connecting children to Country or supporting a woman with her baby it all comes down to a love and purpose of supporting and holding space for families. Tiff has been doing circle work since she circled kids on the kindy mat 19years ago!

Tiff loves to gather women and witness the bodies soften as we come back to Country and our bodies.

In 2022 Tiff launched the first private Bush School of Toowoomba. As a proud Gunggari woman, Tiff visions bringing the community together to support wellbeing, getting children outdoors, decolonising our learning spaces and parenting, to slow our busy lives down and support wellbeing through the land.

Tiff wishes for all women to re-member the knowledge and wisdom that has been lost and disconnected from us; for women to have autonomy of their bodies, and for women to feel empowered to be their authentic, decolonised selves so that it ripples into our homes, our children and their futures.”

  • Speaker - Walking with Folks Through Grief & Trauma

Grief and trauma are an inevitable part of the human experience. These complex and deeply challenging times are asking us to expand our capacity; as individuals and as professional caretakers of society’s most vulnerable.

Can we face the sometimes harsh, and infinitely tender, portals of grief and trauma with nuanced care and a strong centre?

Speaking from a wealth of experience within the landscape of grief and heartbreak, and with the humble understanding that we are all uniquely journeying with our broken-open hearts at any one time, I invite you all in for an intimate conversation about the deep and dark and immense beauty of being fully human, and how we can show up better for ourselves, our precious clients, our communities and the world.”
